Rodrigo Y Gabriela Announce Uk Autumn Tour

Hot on the heels of their fast selling four night residency at London's Old Vic Tunnels, Mexican acoustic rock guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela will be back on the road in the UK this Autumn; bringing their unique instrumental blend of metal, jazz and world music to their dedicated fans up and down the country.

These new live performances will see them focus on the extraordinary interplay between Rod's fiery lead lines and Gab's phenomenal rhythmic battery; with the fresh addition of the superb musicianship of Alex Wilson on piano.

Having worked with Alex on the arrangements and recording of their latest album 'Area 52', Rodrigo y Gabriela are excited to show their fans what an amazing and captivating sound can be created by three musicians, twelve strings and eighty-eight keys.

Rodrigo y Gabriela play the following UK venues:

Sunday 25th November – HMV Institute, Birmingham

Monday 26th November – Academy, Manchester

Tuesday 27th November – Colston Hall, Bristol

Thursday 29th November – The Forum, Kentish Town, London

Tickets are on sale now for Birmingham, Manchester and Bristol priced at £20. Tickets for the London show, priced at £25 go on sale on Friday 28th September.

Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero have been playing guitar together for more than fifteen years. First as young thrash metal fans in their native Mexico City, then as innocents abroad street musicians in Dublin, Ireland at the turn of the Millennium; to the globe straddling, film scoring, record breaking artists they are today. They have just released and toured their most ambitious album to date – 'Area 52' – which was recorded in Havana with a thirteen piece Cuban orchestra.

Praise for Area 52:

“Groundbreaking and mind-boggling” - **** Andy Fyfe, Q Magazine

“An invigorating listen” - **** Mark Hudson, The Daily Telegraph
